As part of our degree program, we embarked on a field visit to Eravikulam National Park, a protected area known for its rich biodiversity and unique ecosystems. Sixteen B. Sc. (Honours) Microbiology students along with two faculty members visited the shola forest of Eravikulam National Park, Munnar, Kerala on 8th October 2025. The visit aimed to explore the microbial ecosystem and diversity within the park, focusing on sample collection and analysis. The objectives of the study are:

·       To collect and analyse soil and water samples from diverse habitats within the park.

·       To isolate the diverse microorganisms from the collected samples.

 The students of M Sc Microbiology presented a paper (oral) in the virtual Symposium on “Marine Biology Research Symposium MBRS 2021” organized by Centre for climate change studies, Satyabhama Institute of Science and Technology, in association with ICAR- National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources.

 


 

 


 

 

The 17 students of second M.Sc Microbiology course presented their 5 papers in the “CUKUROVA” 7th INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHES CONFERENCE September 7-8, 2021, 5 papers were published in the abstract book and 3 full papers were published in the conference proceedings.

Ms. Anjala Shirin of M.Sc.
