 The Department of Commerce (Self) Mar Athanasius College (Autonomous), Kothamangalam, organized an extension programme titled “Kaizen Kin Udhyama” on 6th and 7th December 2025. The programme was conducted as part of the department’s commitment towards social responsibility and environmental sustainability. The initiative aimed to promote awareness on organic waste recycling among Kudumbashree members, in line with the concept of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

The objective of this court visit was to provide a practical understanding of the Indian judicial system, specifically in relation to commercial and business laws.

The objectives of the visit were:

- To observe the court proceedings and understand the judicial process

- To learn about the different types of commercial cases handled by the court

- To analyse the application of business laws in real-life scenarios

 - To develop critical thinking and analytical skills through observation and discussion

The Global Gateway: Unlocking International Tax Careers

 

The Department of Commerce (Self Financing), Mar Athanasius College (Autonomous), Kothamangalam, organized a career guidance session titled “The Global Gateway: Unlocking International Tax Careers” under Kaizen Kin Almashine on 27 February 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Students Centre.

 The session was handled by Mr. Eastel Vinod, Tax Associate at Forvis Mazars, Dublin, Ireland. He shared his professional journey and provided insights into international taxation and global career opportunities.

The Department of Commerce (Self) under Kaizen Kin successfully conducted an Inter Departmental Quiz Competition titled “FinQuest 26” on 29-01-2026 at 10:00 AM in the Library Seminar Hall. The event focused on understanding business, startups, markets, and economy in motion, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from various departments. The competition aimed to enhance students’ knowledge, analytical thinking, and team coordination skills.

As part of the curriculum for B.Com. Honours 1st  year students and in alignment with the theme “Knowledge Systems of Kerala,” the Department of Commerce (Self Financing), M.A. College, Kothamangalam, organized an educational field visit to Calvarymount  Jeevan Tea is a CTC (Crush, Tear, Curl) dust tea produced from Highlands Tea factory on 04 January 2026.

The primary objective was to provide experiential learning by exposing students to Kerala’s unique cultural, historical, and indigenous economic knowledge systems, connecting classroom learning with real-world practices.
